Yoga

Yoga simply means union, or to unite.

Yoga uses postures, breathing exercises and simple forms of meditation and awareness. Yoga is a method designed to unite physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health.

My classes are suitable for all levels, as the depth of each posture (asana) can be adapted to suit different needs and abilities.


I encourage students to use the postures to release rather than simply to stretch. I emphasise being comfortable and steady in each posture, and encourage my students to relax their effort.


Breath-work (pranayama) is also an integral part of my teaching. The space and calm created by the breath helps calm and re-energise the body, and encourages the mind to be clear and still.


I also use relaxation (pratyahara) and compassionate awareness (dharana) techniques and insights in order to increase the harmony between body, mind and soul.


I offer both general and specialised classes. I am also available to devise and run half-day and day-long workshops.
